Carbon Offset integrated within our design, print and website design
Part of our environmental policy is to address the carbon created in the production and design of the website, along with the conitnued hosting.

Whilst the calculation of the carbon used during this process is difficult to calculate, the decision was made to include one tonne of carbon emissions offset for each websit created and continue with this for subsequent hosting and maintenance.This carbon is offset via a UK Government approved organisation.

The hope in the future is that the carbon footprint of all facets of the website production and hosting process will able to be more easily calculated and subsequently offset. However, the moment it is considered prudent and sufficient that a tonne of carbon offsetting for each website is a step forward in the market.

Additionally, BECO DPW Ltd. will be offsetting the estimated carbon emissions for the business year 2007/08 (including travel and all electricity used, which is sourced from wind power from Ecotricity: www.ecotricity.co.uk) via a UK Government approved organisation, as well as ensuring that all paper products used are either from sustainable sources (FSC approved) or recycled; as well as actively recycling any waste paper created by the business.
